CANFAR at CAHR 2012

April 18, 2012

Our joint National Survey with the SRC-HIV on Canadian attitudes to HIV and AIDS is being presented today at the 21st Annual Canadian Conference on HIV/AIDS Research.

21st Annual CAHR Conference

Today marks the beginning of the 21st Annual Canadian Conference on HIV/AIDS Research in Montreal. For CANFAR, however, it is a first. Our first ever National Survey (a jointly funded endeavour with the SRC-HIV) on Canadians’ attitudes towards HIV and AIDS is being presented at an Ancillary Event tomorrow afternoon.

The survey, which was completed last spring, contains interesting, motivating and surprising statistics on the “state of the nation” with regards to different HIV and AIDS-related topics, such as, condom use, HIV testing, charitable giving, and general awareness about the disease.

Check out the CAHR Conference website here.

Want to Learn More About the Results of the Survey?

Is your interest peaked? Unfortunately, the Ancillary Event is only open to conference attendees, however, you can find out more about the results of the survey on the SRC website.

As well, CANFAR is in the process of publishing a booklet with all the facts from the study and what it means for you as an engaged Canadian. If you would like more details on the Booklet, or would like to reserve a copy of the Booklet for your organization, please contact our Communications Officer, Alex Kruger, at akruger@canfar.com.
