Canada’s Pop Princess will help spread message of HIV/AIDS Awareness to nation’s youth

We are proud to have Juno award-winning recording artist Keshia Chanté join in the fight to end AIDS as CANFAR’s Youth Ambassador. In this role, Keshia will reach out and engage young Canadians, communicating messages of HIV/AIDS education and prevention.

Today, the need to spread HIV/AIDS awareness and education to Canada’s youth is stronger than ever, with 25% of all new HIV diagnoses in Canada being young adults. Keshia is a talented artist, a great role model and extremely passionate about spreading awareness for the cause. We are thrilled to have her as a partner.

Keshia kick-started her new role as Youth Ambassador this past World AIDS Day 2010, where she joined CANFAR volunteers to create Canada’s largest red ribbon – a symbol of hope, support and memory for people affected by HIV/AIDS.

Keshia will be involved in all aspects of our youth programs, including becoming the face of Have-A-Heart for CANFAR, our annual youth education program reaching more than a million students across the country.

Stay tuned for more details about Keshia in her new role as Youth Ambassador!
