The other week I was privileged enough to win two tickets to CANFAR’s ‘Our Future Without AIDS’ at 99 Sudbury from their online Twitter contest. As an avid CANFAR supporter and personal advocate for HIV/AIDS awareness and research, the word ‘ecstatic’ mildly explains how I felt about the upcoming event. That being said, I think it goes without saying that I headed to 99 Sudbury on April 30th with pretty high expectations.
After attending, I can say with absolute certainty that all my preconceived expectations about Our Future Without AIDS were completely blown out of the water. CANFAR’s event was an absolutely amazing experience with nothing but positive vibes and different interactive opportunities for all guests. I indulged in a candy buffet, I saw my tweets live broadcasted, I took in amazing art and fashion and I had the opportunity to meet some amazing people. This event was an amazing way to really engage young professionals and give them the opportunity to become proactive in the fight against AIDS. On a personal level, I feel that I gained more from that weekend than I ever fathomed I would. I really loved the modern flare and the way different technology was infused into different aspects of the event. Our Future Without AIDS was an excellent way to fundraise while providing guests with an absolutely amazing evening. I’m so happy that I was able to attend, and I have been recommending CANFAR’s events to everyone I know since.
Our Future Without AIDS was a night I won’t ever forget, and I feel so honoured to have been there. Thank you, CANFAR!
