It’s that time of year again! The CANFAR office is bustling as we host our annual Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting today. Gathered in our board room are some of the brightest minds in Canadian HIV and AIDS research and science.
This year, CANFAR received dozens of proposals from scientists and researchers across Canada, and the grueling task of selecting which studies will receive funding falls upon the SAC. After reviewing each proposal, they must determine which ones show the most potential for a cure or improved treatment or better knowledge on the disease.
CANFAR’s mission to eliminate HIV and AIDS through research would not be possible without the dedication and expertise of our SAC members. Stay tuned to hear more about today’s meeting — today’s research could be tomorrow’s cure!
