I'm really excited to welcome CANFAR's new Manager of Events, Holly Fraser. Although I bet she'll hate me for calling her Holly #2.
Holly's got a great background in events, and the only problem is that things are going to get mighty confusing in the office with two Hollys! We haven't figured out a way to differentiate our names yet, and may resort to men's locker room-like last names, so if you have a better idea, let me know!
I forced Holly #2 to write a bit about herself, so check out below:
I most recently worked as an Event and Marketing Manager for a high-end entertainment venue in New Jersey, and was previously a magazine writer and newspaper columnist. Hailing from Canada's neighbour to the South, I'm an American who has lived and worked in Los Angeles, New York, and Philadelphia. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Media Studies from Rutgers University.
After moving to Toronto, I fell head over heels for CANFAR and am now working on a number of events, including CANFAR’s Bloor Street Entertains (November 2011), Pride Parade (July 2011), AIDSbeat (October 2011), and an abundance of top-secret events that you’ll just have to stay tuned for!
I'll also admit that I'm a bit of a nerd: I have an affinity for libraries (and the musty book smell), I love baseball and apple pie like any true American, has started to acclimate myself in Canadian English by using the letter "u" more often, and am committed to ending AIDS in this generation through fabulous event planning. And I've been known to bake a tasty batch of cupcakes for you if you’re nice.
You can follow CANFAR (and me!) on Twitter to keep up on all the happenings... or just to say hello!
