Activities throughout Canada are in full swing for World AIDS Day. As this year marks the 30th anniversary of the first medical diagnosis of AIDS, there is a somber understanding that an entire generation does not know a world without AIDS. We celebrate in knowing the strives we made in research so far and that we are the solution.
We want to hear from you! How are you engaging your community this World AIDS day? Be a leader in your neighborhood: wear a red ribbon and pass more out to your colleagues and peers, bring your friends and family to a vigil ceremony or any activity taking place in your city, sing a song or write a poem that impacts you. Some young professionals got creative and performed a FLASH MOB last Sunday to raise awareness for this day.
Each and every step we take brings us closer to finding a cure, and to ending AIDS. Let’s celebrate the end of HIV infection and AIDS 30 years from now.
If you are in the Toronto or Vancouver area, you will want to look up as CANFAR lights both the CN Tower and BC Place as we “go red” to end AIDS. Feel free to post a pic or vid on our Facebook page or Twitter feed.
